Single in the City? So What!
I spent the day after Valentine's Day, reflecting on this whole self-love soapbox that I've been on, and I have to say, I love me! I am hoping that you feel the same way about you. If I were completely honest, being single is not so bad. Don't get me wrong, I am in search of Mr. Right but trust and believe that I will wait for Mr. Right. I am done with wasting time with the Mr. Wrongs of the world, especially if I can detect early on that he is Mr. Wrong. That means, I will be Single in the City for as long as it takes. I believe in love and romance but I just don't think that I should put my whole life on hold while waiting. As I thought things through, I came up with my top 5 Dating Tips when you are Single in the City. Check them out below:
1. Have Fun.
Who says that dating has to be drab? It doesn't. Take some time to fix yourself up, and feel good about who you are and what you bring to the table. Sometimes, that may even mean eating alone, but as long as you remember not to be too hard on yourself, you should be good. Also, don't be afraid to try new experiences. Fun is the name of the game!
2. Friends First.
If you've been watching my videos, you have heard me say that I'm not dating in search of love, I'm dating in search of finding friends. Things are so much simpler when you don't have such high expectations. I have met some awesome friends that I knew right away were not a fit for me romantically. In this scenario, I lost nothing and gained a night of fun. Let romance and love evolve.
3. Know Your Worth.
I wrote a whole section in my book Pretty & Educated on this topic because of its importance. Honestly, the entire #prettyandeducated movement is at the basis of this thought process. If you don't know your worth, you will keep giving discounts to people who don't deserve them. If someone doesn't treat you with respect or in a way that you feel valued, they don't deserve your time and space. It's ok to know that you are the bomb.com!
4. Fall in Love with You.
ow can you expect anyone to fall in love with you, if you aren't already in love. It is true that we teach others how to treat us. What do you like most about yourself? What do you have to offer? What does your future look like? All those things and more make you a prize. The winner has to be the one who recognizes that too.
5. Read Pretty & Educated.
Of course, I'm going to tell you to read my book because every one should. It's filled with tips, advice and too many topics to name. I wish that someone had written this book for me which is why I decided to write it. Trust and believe, there is more where that came from. Click here to get your copy now.
All in all, this whole journey isn't about anyone except you. Finding yourself, loving yourself and being happy with who you see in the mirror. Single in the city? So what!
